Philosophy/purpose
The philosophy of the Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences and the ideal talent we aim to cultivate
Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences
Based on our philosophy of "autonomy and creativity," we aim to contribute to the steady development of the region and the world as a frontrunner in life innovation, and to cultivate talented individuals who can take the initiative and collaborate to solve human and social problems that cannot be solved by a single specialized knowledge alone, based on broad academic knowledge that crosses multiple fields, advanced specialized knowledge, skills, and attitudes and behaviors. In other words, we cultivate individuals who can solve problems in a place that creates "comprehensive knowledge." We also cultivate professional workers and researchers who have specialized knowledge and interdisciplinary skills and the ability to discover and explore problems on their own.
Master’s Program of Humanities and Social Sciences
Toward the development of modern Humanities and Social Sciences, the formation of a sustainable and symbiotic human society, and the creation of a diverse culture, we cultivate talented individuals who have highly original and outstanding research abilities, based on advanced specialized knowledge in the Humanities and Social Sciences and an interdisciplinary background for integrating a wide range of knowledge, and who are able to explore their own questions and solve problems.
Master’s Program of Sciences and Technologies
Toward the development of natural science, which encompasses the academic fields of science, engineering, and agriculture, and toward the creation of a sustainable and symbiotic human society, we cultivate talented individuals who have highly specialized knowledge in natural science and an interdisciplinary background for integrating a wide range of knowledge, and who are equipped with highly original and excellent research capabilities and the ability to explore and solve problems based on their own set of questions.
