Field Research in the Environmental Sciences Program

Program Overview

This is a "Niigata Interdisciplinary" program that aims to train "field scientists" who can find practical solutions from the perspectives of both earth and planetary science and nature coexistence science to explore unexplained phenomena related to nature and the environment, conserve ecosystems and the environment, prepare for disasters, and address related social science issues.

The type of person the program cultivates

This program aims to develop field scientists who can comprehensively understand the complexities of modern society, including oceanography and meteorology, topography and geology, planetary science, geophysical chemistry of the Earth's environment, bioscience, forest regeneration and conservation, human geography, and natural disaster science, and who can solve practical problems in a variety of fields, thereby contributing to the steady development of local and global communities.
